The controversy about the proposed 14.9 million dollar loan from Social Security for the Nature Fresh Fish Farm was all the rage in June, but since then it's been eclipsed by various issues.
But - according to our reports - it was re-considered by the Social Security Board of Directors last week Friday and it was rejected. According to the Prime Minister, the loan proposal is as dead as preventative detention. Note that we say "re-considered by the Board" - because it had already received initial approval from the Board (which is usually final approval) - but in this case it was sent back to factor in feedback from the public.
We could not reach Chairman Lois Young to find out what type and what volume of feedback was received and how much it influenced the final decision. But, whatever the case, the proposal has been soundly rejected. The Mena Group declined comment.
