And keeping the focus regional, on Tuesday, the Cabinet met with president of the CDB Dr Gene Leon, and his delegation here in Belize. Their discussion centered around the work of the bank in the country and efforts to enhance the partnership between the two. Today the PM told us what the president's visit means for Belize.

"Simply it means that Leon is looking t what we have been doing, what we have accomplished in one year, and quite amazed how we could have turned around the economy so quickly, that was never expected, not even the IMF and certainly not the UDP expected us to do what we have done and he wanted to see firsthand, Belize continues to be one of their more important, quote and unquote, clients and once you take firsthand look at what a) has been invested but 2) what are the other opportunities that we can look at so I'm very pleased that he could've come with his technical team."
