Also remembering Alistair King is his former attorney Mike Peyrefitte. He praised King's high standards, and seriousness in business and development:

Mike Peyrefitte, Attorney and Friend

"If I could come up with just a word or a few words, I would say hard work, decency, and a very, very good man. Mr. King. All my association with him and working with him never wanted to cut a corner. Never wanted to circumvent any rule or regulation or anything like that. He genuinely believed that his product was the best product, and so he would work hard to reach those levels and maintain those levels just so he could fly straight. Not very many successful business people are nice and decent people. And Mr. King was one of those very, very, very few."

"And you know that once he was present, something was, was legit. And you could have confidence because you knew that there would be no fooling around with whatever we were dealing."

King was known as the founder of a number of successful business enterprises from fuel stations to the country's leading supplier of gasses, Fabrigas. He was also the country representative and driving force behind US Capital Energy which recently started a second round of oil exploration in Toledo.

He is survived by his wife, Edna King, Children: Philip, Andree, Martine, and Kelly. A memorial service will be held on Saturday in Punta Gorda.

Former KHMH CEO Passes

The former CEO of the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital passed away on Saturday. Alvaro Rosado served in that capacity from 2000 to 2008. He was also the founder of the Ariel Rosado Foundation, and he was a sponsor of the police department's LIU program. In 2022, he donated land to the program as farmlands for the members. Today, ComPol Chester Williams spoke more about him.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police

"Dr Alvaro Rosado is a Belizean legend. He is a very good friend, I have known him for many years and he is always supportive. I recall when I was going away to law school, he called me in and shared some advice with me, gave me some guidance, and I was very much grateful for that. At one point he also gave me some books, myself and Mr Jones, some law books and those books were very important to what we were going to study so they came a very long way in terms of us pursuing our legal education. When we had the LIU program the other day, he came on board and he practically gave his land to the LIU program for the members of LIU to do farming and these sort of things so it goes to show that he's a kind person, he's very patriotic, he wanted what was best for Belize at all times so I will remember him as that type of person, a very kind and humble person."
