And for NIME they don't seem to be slowing down in terms of their work and outreach. They are also gearing up to host their first regional forum in Belize which targets business women who work within the tourism sector. Their Board Member shared more with us.
Saidy Godette, Board member, NIME
"It is going to be the first forum that Belize is going to host that is fully focused on gender equity and it's going to be hosted by NIME Belize in November."
"In the forum it's going to be tourism based and we are looking at gender equity and development for women in business in the tourism industry so we are going to be focusing on that it's going to be a one day forum fully packed with information with discussions and then we are going to top it off with an expo in the evening that's going to showcase those women in business in Belize and also showcase those 9 counties that are coming in from Central America and Dominican Republic who are going to join us to celebrate women in business in tourism."
"So what we are promoting is equity and the availability of resources for these women to discuss some of the grievances they might have and to find solutions and foster support and thankfully with people like organizations like DFC we can better realize that objective."
