Turning now to other news, Minister of Agriculture, Jose Mai traveled to Palenque in Chiapas, Mexico to on Sunday on an important mission: to try and save Belize's cattle exports.

He with Mexico's new minister of Agriculture, Dr. Julio Berdegué to discuss the New World Screwworm and maintaining Belize's supply of cattle to Mexico.

A release states, quote, "The highlight of the meeting was Dr. Berdegué issuing a clear statement on Mexico's interest to purchase cattle from Belize. More specifically, Dr. Berdegue said 'Mexico is interested in importing from Belize every single head of cattle that is legally exported from Belize to Mexico and that complies with the technical protocols to ensure the sanitization standards. Everything that you can send us, we will receive it very gladly.'

Belize's delegation - which includes Jaime Briceno left on Sunday, and will return on Tuesday.
