And, of course, what would a GST waiver at Christmas be without a special carve-out for hams and turkeys?
Well, those get a special break because for the entire month of December, picnic shoulder hams, smoked ham legs, and imported turkeys will be zero-rated.
The Director General told us more earlier this week:

"For the entire month of December. So even after Christmas, up to the 31st of December, all imported ham and imported turkey will not see the charge of the 12.5% GSD. It's only the imported ham. I mean, you know, Jules how Belizeans are they want their honeybake spiral, they bring it in, that kind of thing."
Local turkeys do not attract GST.
