Consumer prices were up only 1.2% in July according to the Statistical Institute of Belize. The modest uptick in inflation was driven almost entirely by the categories of 'Food and Non- Alcoholic Beverages' and 'Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels'. In contrast, notable reductions were seen in the 'Transport' and 'Information and Communication' categories.
Notably, stew pork, grapefruit and carrots were all up by double digits.
