Yesterday we told you about Kamera Belisle, the woman who was sentenced to 2 years on probation after more than $47,000 was accidentally deposited into her account. By the time the authorities discovered the mistake, she had already withdrawn about $28,000. Court reports suggested that the money was intended for a subagent of the Belize Government Lotteries Limited.

However, today the BGLL is stressing that it had no involvement in the incident. The erroneous transfer of funds was from Nando's Wholesale to Belisle. Nando's is a master sales distributor and master agent for the national Boledo and government lottery to Belisle. The funds were originally meant for a subagent of Nando's and were neither from nor intended for the BGLL.

And how did the mix-up occur? The accountant at Nando's accidentally sent the money to Belisle's Belize Bank account instead of an account belonging to a subagent for that company.
