A pair of men, who are accused of shooting up a home, and almost killing the man inside, are free tonight after they were granted bail - against the wishes of the police prosecution. The charges arose on the night of July 28th at around 8:30 when it is alleged that one of two men, Frederick Dougal and Kenrick Reneau, fired a number of times into the home of one Evan Hemsley on Cran Street. While one of the defendants was firing into the house, Hemsley ducked and ran out of the house. In court the prosecutor objected to bail but Magistrate Dorothy Flowers sited that there was no disclosure of aggravated burglary. She went on to say that though the charges were serious, each case had to be dealt with on an individual basis and that some of the charges were in doubt. As they stood in court today charged with attempted murder, aggravated burglary, and aggravated assault. No plea was taken as the offence is an indictable one. Bail was granted to both men in the sum of 4,000 dollars, which they met. The case was adjourned until August 28th.
