Belmopan Student Claims He Was Kidnapped

Belmopan police are investigating a report of a kidnapping made by a 17 year old student.

The young man says that he was at the Belmopan roundabout waiting for a bus to take him to his home in Roaring Creek when two men approached him on bicycles one of the men armed with a knife and the other with a machete. They took him into nearby bushes where they held him for hours until he managed to escape. He says he slept on a tree and this morning managed to contact his family and tell them of his ordeal.

Police in Belmopan say they are investigating and judging the credibility of the report.
