Senior Citizen Killed in Accident

A 60-year-old man was knocked down and killed on the western highway just outside Belize city limits yesterday evening. 7NEWS was on the scene shortly after the accident as the body of the victim George Francis was being transported to the morgue. He was hit by Adolfo Pate's double cab Mitsubishi pickup. Pate tells investigators that around 6:30 he was heading towards Belmopan when Francis ran out of nowhere causing the accident. Francis was pronounced dead on arrival at the KHMH. Pate has not been charged though police say he has been served with a note of intended prosecution.
