It took just one day shy of a month but police are today reporting that they have the men they believe to be responsible for the murder of Deacon Donald Kostecki, which occurred on Friday March 12th. They today arrested 29-year-old Abelino Briceno, 21-year-old Anward Awe and 19 year old Luis Carlos Flores.

Police picked up Briceno and Awe at their home and a short time after that Briceno's wife went to check up on her husband. The key piece of evidence came when police noted that she was carrying a cell phone believed to be the property of the deceased Deacon. Police opened the phone and certified, by cross referencing a serial number that the phone was indeed Kostecki's and, from there, the case soon unraveled.

Today the three, Abelino Briceno, Anwar Awe and Luis Carlos Flores appeared before Magistrate Linden Flowers who remanded them to the Hattieville Prison on charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder. The trio is expected to be further charged with burglary, handling stolen property, keeping unlicensed fire and ammunition for two guns, one of which is believed to be the murder weapon. These were found when police searched the men's residence.

The three are also to be charged for seven counts of robbery in incidents which include the robbery of a number of tourist in the Macal River area.
