Ever since Cain slew Abel - fratricide, the case of brother killing brother has attracted special interest. And that's what it was for a jury today which found a man not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter in the death of his younger brother. That was the verdict handed down this evening by a jury in the case of Calbert Smith. Calbert was on trial for stabbing to death his brother Kenrick Smith in October of 2001 in the Cadle Alley Home. At the time of the incident neighbors say they heard the two arguing. Those words turned to fatal blows when a knife was pulled. This evening a jury chose the lesser charge of manslaughter. Adolph Lucas was the presiding judge and senior Crown Counsel Marjorie Moyston prosecuted.
