He is blind but so is justice and so today the law had no mercy on a 72 year old blind and physically disabled man accused of drug trafficking. He is Lloyd Carr also known as Dr. Lloyd. Dr. Lloyd was arrested after police searched his Central American Boulevard home on Thursday and allegedly found a stash of marijuana in a plastic bag stuffed in a oven. The drugs weighed in 104 grams which constitutes trafficking.
Today Dr. Lloyd claimed the drug wasn't his and accused police of planting it in his house. Nevertheless he was arraigned before Magistrate Sharon Frazer. She offered him bail in the sum of $3,000, which he met. Dr. Lloyd is due back in court on November 3rd.
Dr. Lloyd lost 95% of his vision 3 years ago when he mistakenly drank benzene for alcohol. Dr. Lloyd's other handicap is that he broke his legs on August 11th when he fell into a drain near his house.
