He was charged with pulling a gun on a man and a magistrate ordered him jailed, but yesterday evening 32-year-old Jason Weatherburn walked out of court a free man. Weatherburn is the long time driver of former PUP Minister and Current Ambassador for Women and Children Dolores Balderamos Garcia.

32-year-old Engelbert Smith told police that on January 31st, he was in Pinks Alley when Weatherburn confronted him and threatened him with a.25 pistol. Smith managed to escape and he claims the altercation was over an old beef.

Well, police finally took Weatherburn to court yesterday where he was formally charged with aggravated assault with a firearm. Under the law, bail wasn't even an option and Magistrate Roberto Ordonez remanded him to prison until April 5th. But Weatherburn never even made it on the prison bus because the man he pulled the gun on, Englebert Lewis showed up to court after the arraignment and asked the Magistrate to withdraw the charges. Magistrate Ordonez then re-opened the hearing, countermanded his remand order, struck out the case for want of prosecution and Weatherburn was free to go.
