Mark Gardiner Dies; Prime Suspect Surrenders

He was shot in the back of his head by a gunman on a bicycle and, as doctors predicted, the critically wounded Mark Gardiner didn't make it through the night. The 26 year old was pronounced dead at the KHMH at 10:25 pm last night. Gardiner's death is now a case of murder and this afternoon at 4:15, prime suspect Kareem Lopez turned himself into police accompanied by his attorney Lionel Welch. Police expect to conduct an ID parade tomorrow morning and hope to charge him for murder by the afternoon, and then arraign him on Tuesday.
