Mother Commits Suicide after Argument With Son

A woman is believed to have committed suicide this afternoon in Belize City. At around 4:30 Agnes Humes family found her lifeless body inside her home on Fairweather Street. This evening throngs of onlookers gathered at the scene as the body of Humes was taken out of the home.

So far, no one is quite sure just what happened, but what we've been able to ascertain is that sometime this afternoon Humes and one of her sons who lives with her had an argument.

Preliminary reports suggests that sometime after that Humes took her life by tying a telephone cable around her neck and hanging herself. Police have taken in the son for questioning.
