One suspect has been detained for questioning about Richard Hoare's murder. That was confirmed to us today by Police Press Officer G. Michael Reid. Reid says they have an encouraging lead, but he would not discuss a possible motive. Officer Commanding at the CIB, Superintendent Aaron Guzman told us today that it was not a random crime and that Hoare was singled out.
As we reported, Hoare, who owned Baymen Cable and other tourism related ventures was murdered at 9:30 on Wednesday night. He had left his office 20 minutes earlier and it is believed that a pair of men got into his Toyota Prado and one of them shot him in the back of the head as he was driving. The SUV crashed on Vasquez Avenue and that's when the two men reportedly ran off. Hoare was not robbed of jewelry or cash in his wallet.
Hoare had recently sold his Ladyville affiliate Continental Cable and reportedly received a down payment of $200.
