Last week Police Constable Delmar Moguel was accused of threatening a police officer, and tonight, he’s again being investigated for making threats. 7NEWS has learned that a man has reported to police that Moguel assaulted him with a firearm and threatened his life. It allegedly occurred on Sunday morning at a bar on Hyde’s Lane. But while assault with a weapon is a serious accusation and usually results in swift arrests, the boss of the Eastern Division told us they are looking at this one carefully.
ACP Allen Whylie, Eastern Division Commander
“There is a complaint that originated over this weekend, that he was in the vicinity of an establishment on Hyde’s Lane. He got into some incident with a person and it is alleged that he threatened that person. That matter is under investigation and if proven or substantiated, then we have no problem with dealing with our own.”
Reports to 7NEWS are that just this evening police found the black Trooper said to be Moguel’s property which escaped from police last week after someone in the vehicle opened fire on the patrol team.
