There was an armed robbery yesterday at the San Ignacio Hotel. It occurred in the middle of the night – at around 2:50 am. That is when security guard Sheldon Guzman says an armed and masked man accosted him in the dining room. Sheldon was told to keep his mouth shut and was forced down on the floor. And for good measure, the gunman fired one shot. He then took Sheldon Guzman into the dining room and then to the pool’s storage room where he asked Guzman what was the quickest way out. The gunman fled.

But it didn’t end there because Guzman says he was heading back to the front desk when another masked man approached him. Another security guard, Geston Guzman, was on the floor with his hands handcuffed behind him and a towel over his head. This assailant took Sheldon to the cash register and ordered him to open it. The gunman grabbed $400 in cash. He asked for the lockers but Sheldon says he didn’t have it. The man then left.

A total of $2,100 in cash was stolen along with a.38 Smith and Wesson revolver.
