Police are preparing to charge one of their own for having sexual relations with a 12 year old girl. Last night, the minor accompanied by her mother told police that around two thirty Wednesday afternoon she was invited to a residence on Seagull Street by a police constable she knows only as Devon. The little girl claims that the man had sex with her. The family was signalled by the school because the child wasn’t at school. Turns out, the school warden had seen Constable Horace Portillo talking with the young girl. So police went to his house, and found the child there.
A medical examination was conducted and a doctor certified that the child was carnally known. There may also be other complications – but those have yet to be confirmed.
Police have not yet made any arrest but 7NEWS has confirmed that the man being investigated is Police Constable Horace Portillo who is attached to the Patrol Branch. We have confirmed that they intend to arrest and charge him as soon as he is found. Police would not confirm whether or not PC Portillo has been interdicted from duty they would only say that their investigation continues.
