19 year old Mark Vernon was charged for manslaughter by negeligence in August after he shot a 17 year old in the head. He claimed it was an accident and police agreed so they charged him with manslaughter and not murder. But he’s also got an attempted murder charge dating back to 2007. That was dropped when he went to court today because the victim asked for charges to be dropped. But as soon as he stepped out of the court, he was re-arrested on the same charge. But that was a mix-up and to set it straight the DPP had to send a directive making it clear that there’s no evidence, no witness and no case to re-charge him. With that, Vernon was released from police custody and declared free to go.
