Child Perishes in Orange Walk House Fire

And in news of a very different nature.....a four year old child perished in a blaze today. It happened at about 10 this morning on Juventus Street in Orange Walk Town. This footage provided by Channel 10 in Orange Walk shows the small concrete bungalow.

The child’s father told police that he was taking a shower when he was alerted by a neighbor that smoke was coming out of the house. He ran out, but when he got to his daughter’s room the fire was raging and he could not get inside. His four year old daughter Eliana was trapped in there, and that is where she perished.

By the time fire authorities arrived it was too late. The fire was contained but investigators cannot say what caused it at this time.
