A woman was stoned to death on Friday. It occurred on the outskirts of Belmopan in Salvapan where Geralda Ramirez was on her way home with 61 year old Lloyd Alfred around 12:30 on Saturday morning. But Geralda never made it home because on the way they were attacked with stones. Cirilo Choco says he arrived home to the sight of his fatally wounded mother just feet from their doorstep.
Cirilo Choco, Son of Deceased
“My mom was laying down at about four or five feet to the front in between a little craboo tree and she was laying down and she had multiple stab or rock beaten from her head from this (from left to right) area and she had a big hole here like if they hit her more than 25 to 50 times in between and it is very awful. I just pray that these guys may come to what they have done and ask for repentance and also deal with what they have to face because what they did to my mom is not nice.
As far as we are concerned, they followed her from Salvapan Street all the way down to the back so there were two guys following her and distracting her down the road.”
Keith Swift,
So she was heading home?
Cirilo Choco,
“She was heading home with her friend and these guys that were coming behind her, they were stoning rocks and telling her a lot of words all down the road and I don’t know more information.”
Keith Swift,
So your mother was stoned to death?
Cirilo Choco,
“She was stoned to death.”
Keith Swift,
Can you think of why?
Cirilo Choco,
“I don’t have no idea. For my family it is very painful. We suffer, I loved my mom a lot. I’ve always been there for her in all different areas but that is one night I couldn’t be there for her.”
Lloyd Alfred survived the attack and he is recovering in the Belmopan Hospital. A Hispanic man was seen in the area at the time and he is considered the police’s number one suspect.
