“If I can’t have her then no one will.” Those are sentiments reportedly expressed by twenty two year old Corozal resident Victor Hendy who is accused of killing his girlfriend. Police investigations reveal that Victor Hendy was in an off and on relationship with twenty nine year old Annette Palacio. Around six thirty on Saturday morning authorities found Annette Palacio’s lifeless body floating behind a sea wall at the entrance to Corozal Town.
Today Victor Hendy was formally charged for the homicide. Police believe that Victor Hendy dragged Annette Palacio into the water then he physically assaulted her as he pushed her head underwater and drowned the young woman. Police say when they observed the body Annette Palacio had scratch marks around the neck which they believe were made when she was choked and injuries to the mouth believed to have been made when she was punched. Police believe the motive of the killing is jealousy. Following his arrest and charge Victor Hendy was arraigned in the Corozal Magistrate’s Court and remanded to the Hattieville Prison.
