Yesterday we told you about the five men that Ladyville Police caught with the proceeds of an armed holdup in Sandhill. Today they went to court where they were not charged for the robbery of handling the stolen items, instead they were arraigned on a charge of keeping an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, a 9 mm Glock pistol along with 15 live rounds.

24 year old Harold Mutrie, who claims he is a businessman and used the gun for protection this afternoon pleaded guilty to both charges when he appeared before Magistrate Edd. P. Usher in court #7. It’s his first offence, but the offence carries a penalty of mandatory imprisonment and he was sentenced to 2 years for the pistol and an additional 2 years for the 15 live rounds. The sentences will run concurrently. With that, those charges were withdrawn from the other four persons who were in the car.

The other four suspects including 3 minors are still held in custody pending other charges for the robbery and handling stolen items.
