The family of murder victim Aaron Brooks say they continues to be threatened although they have since buried their loved one and the man accused of killing him has been charged and remanded to the Hattieville Prison. Court reports are that twenty three year Everald Grey, the brother of Aaron Brooks’ accused killer Neil Grey appeared before Magistrate Tracy Sosa where he was arraigned on the charge of threat of death against Carolyn Leslie. She is the mother of Aaron Brooks.
In courtroom number three Carolyn Leslie said that Everal Grey went by her home last week Tuesday one day after his brother was remanded to Hattieville Prison. Leslie claims that Everal Grey stopped in front of her house on north creek and threatened her by saying quote “you di bury your son now, you think my brother will get charge for murder...you will be next.“ Fearing for her life she did not report the incident to police until five that evening.
Although it was a serious threat against someone’s life Everal Grey was still granted bail of $2,500 plus one surety of the same amount. But on the condition that he stays away from Carolyn Leslie and any of the other prosecution witnesses for the Aaron Brooks murder case.
But it looks like Everald Grey will be joining his brother behind bars because as of tonight he is in jail on remand that is because he was not only unable to meet the bail but further checks revealed he owed the court one thousand five hundred and five dollars for a 2008 controlled drug possession charge.
And while the Brooks family may be breathing a sigh of relief tonight there is another woman one of the family’s relatives reported to police that her life too has been threatened and it is all connected to the murder of Aaron Brooks. The young mother identified as twenty five year old Jacqueline Bermudez, a custom care representative who also resides in the Brooks neighborhood told the cops that on April eight, this is one day after Carolyn Leslie was threatened, she was walking along with her two year old son on South Creek when a silver colored car pulled up alongside them.
Bermudez said when she looked inside the vehicle she was able to recognize one individual known to her only as “Indian” who pulled a black colour hand gun, got out of the vehicle and started to chase her. Jacqueline Bermudez told police she feared for their lives and placed her son in an empty drain as she ran on a bridge to get away from “Indian” but the gunman caught up with her and knocked her in the head with the weapon and she fell to the ground unconscious.
It is not certain who came to her rescue but when she came to and reported the incident to police she told them that the man she knows only as Indian who attacked her is the same person who just the day before placed a hand gun to her head as she opened her house around seven thirty that evening.
According to Jacqueline Bermudez the man she knows only as Indian then threatened her be saying quote “me and my bally done kill your cousin Aaron Brooks and you are the closest thing to Wyatt Anderson, three of you have to dead.” According to Bermudez ever since Wyatt Anderson went to jail, Indian has been threatening her.
So far police have been unable to detain the man identified to them only as Indian.
