A man was beaten and robbed by armed gunmen in front of Belizean Chinese Fry Chicken on Cemetery Road – which is also within view of the police surveillance cameras on Pound Yard Bridge.
It occurred around 10:55 on Friday night. 28 year old Tarique Glastonbury says he was standing beside his vehicle which was parked across the street from the Constitution Park when three men dressed in dark clothing and one armed with a black handgun and wearing a mask ambushed him. The gunman beat him and popped a gold chain from around his neck and then searched his pockets – stealing his wallet containing $50 in cash and his cell phone.
The men then went into Glastonbury’s car and stole a purse with $3,580 inside in addition to a cell phone, dell laptop, and a 30 gig Ipod. The men then ran into the park and escaped on bicycles in the direction of Johnson Street. One suspect is detained and police are searching for the two others.
