A police officer attached to the Ladyville Police Station is in big trouble tonight after he took a bribe this morning. He allegedly took a bribe from an employee of Triple J Water Taxi who was charged with handling stolen goods two months ago. A policeman’s home had been burglarized and the Triple J employee was found with a chip from the policeman’s stolen phone. He was only charged with handling stolen goods but not burglary.
The policeman under suspicion told the Triple J employee that if he didn’t give him $300, the charge would be upgraded. So the Triple J employee borrowed the $300 from his boss but before handing it over – he went to the Police Internal Affairs Department who marked the bills and then busted the police officer with the bills after he got them this morning. He is detained but so far has not been charged.
