Today it took a jury 2 and a half hours to acquit 29 year old Dorita Wallace of attempted murder. The mother of four had been charged for stabbing Sherilee Barrow twice on her left arm and once in her chest on the night of February 7th. The knife attack followed an earlier altercation. In court Wallace admitted she stabbed Sherilee Barrow but stated that it was in self-defense.

And while a jury acquitted Dorita Wallace, the attempted murder charge against Phillip “Pappy” Wallace and 21 year old Wababa Noralez never made it to a jury. That is because the man they are accused of trying to kill cannot be located. That man is 23 year old Andrew West.

On August 14th of 2007, West was riding his bicycle on Waight Street when he was accosted by two male persons who pulled out guns and started shooting. West jumped off his bike and ran but he was still hit in his left leg. He fell in a drain but his attackers continued shooting. A nolle pros was entered this morning after Andrew West failed to show up to testify. Noralez and Wallace can be re-arrested if and when west is located.
