Construction Worker Charged for Theft

He says he is a construction worker but yesterday 50 year old Javier Castillo was busted with a stolen car engine. On Tuesday Jitendra Chawla – the owner of Extra House Supermarket told police he parked his Toyota Camry in front of his warehouse on the Western Highway. Chawla says that when he returned to his vehicle – the engine valued at $1200 was gone.

Investigations led police to Castillo’s garage on Nurse Seay Street where they found the engine. Today in court Castillo pled not guilty and was offered and met bail of $2,000. His case was adjourned to October 29th.
