Tourist Drowns in Mopan

An American tourist drowned in the Mopan River yesterday. Police report that 58 year old Doreen Colwell from Kansas City was tubing down the Mopan River from Succotz Village to Clarissa Falls when they lost control of the tube; she was thrown out, and disappeared under water. She was later pulled out of the water and given CPR but it was too late. She was pronounced dead at the San Ignacio Town Hospital. A post mortem was scheduled to be conducted today.
