Last Friday forty four year old Sarawee Village resident Hank McLoughlin was run over and killed as he lay down on the Stann Creek Valley Road. Today, almost one week later, police reported that thirty seven year old bus driver Gregorio Bermudez has been charged for causing the death. He has been charged with manslaughter by negligence, causing death by careless conduct and drove a motor vehicle without due care and attention.

Around six thirty five on the evening of December third, Gregorio Bermudez, a resident of Hopeville Village in the Toledo District was driving a James Bus from Punta Gorda to Dngriga when at mile four and a half on the Stann Creek Valley Road he ran over the victim.

It has been reported that Hank McLoughlin was drinking at a nearby bar and was probably on his way back home but instead it is believed he could not finish the walk and decided to lie down on the roadside. It is reported that by the time the bus driver saw him it was too late and he ran over him.
