Belmopan Police Charge Accused Rapists

Belmopan Police have arrested and charged Carlos Montejo and Reynaldo Portillo with rape, robbery and aggravated assault. The charges follow an incident that unfolded on Saturday night inside the Isidoro Beaton Stadium. A young couple was sitting on a bleacher when they were approached by two men. The boyfriend was able to recognize the men who demanded money. Police report that after the men got what they wanted they took the young woman into a nearby bathroom where they raped her.
