A law student who allegedly tried to flush weed down her toilet was today charged with drug possession. Police say that on Saturday morning at 9:15 they searched 21 year old Orinthia Staine’s house on Antelope Street Extension. They allege that Staine threw 21.4 grams of marijuana in the toilet which contained faeces. That attempt failed because the policeman put his hands into the toilet in a plastic bag and retrieved the marijuana.
Both Staine and her boyfriend 25 year old Micah Lee Williams were charged for drug possession. Staine pleaded guilty to drug possession, telling the court she isn’t a smoker but she brought it in the house for her boyfriend. Magistrate Sharon Frazer fined her $250 which she has to pay by March 31st or she’ll serve 3 months in jail.
The charge against Micah Lee Williams was withdrawn but he remained in custody for an outstanding fine for a previous drug possession case.
