Two teenagers – 19 year old Kariq Tzul and 19 year old Eustace Lewis were today charged with handling stolen goods after they were busted in a stolen car. The stolen car is a 1991 black Toyota Camry which was carjacked from 68 year old taxi driver Cornelio Day.

Day told police that at 9:10 on Friday night a tall young man got into his taxi at Cinderella Plaza and asked to be taken to the corner of Dean Street and Chapel Lane. Day says that when he got there, the young man got out of the Camry and another young man entered. He was told to reverse into Chapel Lane and that’s where the young man allegedly placed a gun to Day’s neck and ordered him to turn off the engine. Day did not comply and a struggle ensued. Day says he tried to escape but a third young man appeared and punched him in the face. He eventually managed to free himself and fled the scene leaving behind the Toyota Camry.

The car was recovered Sunday on Cairo Street after police responded to reports of gunshots. Officers say they saw Kariq Tzul, Eustace Lewis and a third teenager – 18 year old Mark Usher Jr. fleeing the scene and the car. Kariq Tzul and Eustace Lewis pleaded not guilty to the handling stolen goods charge and were released on bail of $5,000. The case was adjourned to April 25th.

Mark Usher Jr. will also be charged for handling stolen goods. Usher was not in court today because he is in jail. Yesterday he was charged for possession of ammunition without a gun license after he was found hiding out in a yard where police found a magazine with 8 rounds of 9 milimeter calibre ammunition. If Mark Usher Junior’s name sounds familiar that is because it is. In January the Gwen Lizarraga High School student was charged with attempted murder for a stabbing.
