Another man was charged today in connection with the Chon Saan attempted robbery and the police sting operation. Ernie Miranda one of the three men who were allegedly caught on their way to rob Chon Saan was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and attempted robbery. He pleaded not guilty but was remanded until May 6th.
According to police Miranda and Jermaine Palacio were in the car that was intercepted at a checkpoint on the night of Wednesday March 31. One of them allegedly confessed to police that they were going to rob Chon Saan – and that disclosure set the sting operation in motion. Shortly after - acting on police instructions - either Miranda or Palacio called PC Germaine Mangar and lured him to the scene where he allegedly picked up what he believed to be proceeds of the robbery.
