This morning at 7:00 when most city teenagers were getting ready for school - shots rang out on Boots Crescent in Port Loyola. 14 year Standard six student at Queen's Square Anglican, Alondra Trapp was one more innocent victim caught in the crossfire between....who knows?

It was wild, unsourced shooting, but the bullets, the blood and the community's collective trauma are real....here's more.

Jules Vasquez, Reporting
This is the home at #95 Boots Crescent where 14 year old Alondra Trapp was sitting on this couch when a trail of bullets ripped through the back of the home. The bullet hit her in the leg. Her mother Julie Thurton explain

Julie Thurton

"My son Akeem tell me, ma Alondra got shot. When I came out I saw her leg pouring with blood, it was her leg that got shot."

And yes she is the sister of Steven Buckley who was recently son in the head by police, and yes a man was murdered just a few dozen feet from this home on Boots Crescent 12 days ago.

The shooting happened directly across from the back fence of St. John Vianney School. Police have no suspects at this time. As we noted, there was a murder a few dozen feet from that scene on April 30th for which there has been no arrest. Police are investigating though, and this morning, they visited the Neal's Pen Road home of George Street Don, Shelton Pinky Tillett.

It was tense for a few moments as police pulled up to his home and Pinky Tillett refused to come out - fearing that the police, one officer in particular, would try and take advantage of him. In the end - with the intercession of a third party - it was calmly defused and after about a 15 minute standoff, Pinky accompanied police to the station - where he remains tonight.
