Last night on this newscast you heard the moving story of Elvin Torres - he's the man who was brutally beaten by police after he had the bad luck of driving up to the mile three checkpoint just as police were under fire from unknown forces. Police thought he was somehow involved and they chased him down, snatched him out of his truck and viciously beat him and threatened his life. No weapons were found on him or in his truck and Torres was never charged. But days later he still has multiple injuries to his face and head. And while it won't ease the headaches that he's been having, he should get some satisfaction when the police officers who beat him are taken to court tomorrow. Constable Kareem Fuller who was on duty at the checkpoint and others are expected to be charged tomorrow in Magistrate's court.
The details of their charges are not known at this time - but we'll have that for you tomorrow when they go to court.
