He is the driver for a Minister of State, but today Omar Woodeye is in police custody pending charges for acting corruptly, specifically, forgery and obtaining property by deception. The incident happened on April 13th - Businessman Zhi Yiang Zhang was at the Recondev Office in Belmopan when he was approached by Woodeye who introduced himself as the Manager of Recondev.
Woodeye then offered to sell Zhang a parcel of land located in Belmopan - valued at thirty seven thousand dollars. He then proceeded to show Zhang the parcel of land and also gave him a letter with the heading of Recondev indicating the approval. Zhang then gave Woodeye fifteen thousand dollars towards the land. Things became suspicious when Woodeye went missing after their transaction and on May 29th Zhang was informed by Peter August, the real General Manager of Recondev that Woodeye is not a manager of the company. Today we were informed by Minister of State Ramon Wittz, that Woodeye is in fact his driver. Omar Woodeye is now in police custody pending charges.
