There were two assaults near different city canals in the last few days. In the first, on Thursday morning, 38 year old Edward Carter was walking at the junction of East Canal and King Street when two men rode up wearing blue rags over their faces. One of them pulled out a handgun and demanded his valuables getting off with $400.00 in cash and a cell phone.
And on Friday afternoon, there was a similar holdup on West Collet Canal. At about 2:30, a man in a blue shirt walked up behind 19 year old Bernard Bradley and tried to snatch his ipod. Bradley resisted and the robber punched him in the face. Still Bradley managed to pull the robber to the ground, but that's when another man came and punched Bradley in his head. He fell to the ground and the two men ran off with the ipod.
