She stabbed another woman to death at a Cayo nighclub three and a half years ago - and today Guatemalan national, Yanira Escobar, pleaded guilty to the charge at her retrial.

Justice Troadio Gonzalez sentenced her to six years after he heard pleas for mitigation.

Escobar said she was sorry for what had happened and she asked for leniency.

Bradley drew the court's attention to the fact that Escobar has already served three and a half years and that she should be eligible for parole when the board meets in January of next year.

Escobar was charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of Judith Salguero which occurred on July 3, 2007 at King's Night Club in San Ignacio.

At the first trial Escobar was found not guilty of murder, but guilty of manslaughter. She was sentenced to fifteen years.

She appealed and Belize Court of Appeal allowed the appeal and ordered a retrial.
