Glenn Leslie Jr., is luck to be alive tonight after he was shot in an armed robbery near Leslie's Block Factory in the Lake Independence area this afternoon.
At ten to three, Leslie who is 33 years old was on the roadside in front of his business, Leslie's Block Factory which is on Carnation Street off Western Avenue.
Leslie saw two fair skinned men riding on separate bicycles and one of them brandished a revolver. The armed man told Leslie, "gimmie what u got."
At the same time one of his children came out of their house which adjoins the business. Leslie defensively picked up the child, which is when one of the gunmen shot him in the back, even with his son in his arms.
Leslie dropped his cell phone and $148.00bcy that he had in his hand, which one of his assailants picked up and fired another shot at him before they rode off.
Leslie is in the hospital this evening in stable condition. Somehow - even though he was shot in the gut at close range - he was not critically injured.
