Tonight a jury of 7 women and five men is deliberating the fate of convicted multiple murderers, Leslie Pipersburgh and Patrick Robateau. The pair got a retrial for four convictions of murder after the Privy Council allowed an appeal. They were convicted of killing two security guards Kevin Alvarez and Fidel Mai as well as David Flores and Cherry Tucker in a robbery of Bowen and Bowen in July of 2002.
The jury went in at 5:00 pm after the retrial concluded one month after it had started. In the process of the trial, they made some headway as the judge Adolph Lucas ruled favourably on a no case to answer submission on the charges for murder of David Flores and Cherry Tucker.
So they are awaiting the verdict for only two murders, Guards Kevin Alvarez and Fidel Mai. During the trial, the prosecution called 22 witnesses. Pipersburgh gave a statement from the dock in which he admitted his involvement in the robbery but said he left before the shooting happened. Robateau also gave a statement from the dock denying any involvement in the incident and said the witnesses for the prosecution were lying.
Again, the jury is deliberating all that at this hour, and if they come out with a verdict before the news is done, we'll let you know what that is:…
