Doctor Enrique Guerra, a gynecologist of Orange Walk Town - who was beaten up badly by 5 men last month - succumbed to his injuries early yesterday morning at the KHMH.
On May 21 around 3 in the morning, Guerra was found by Orange Walk police - lying in an area on Main Street - suffering from injuries to his face and head.
He was rushed to the Northern Regional Hospital in a critical condition and later transferred to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.
According to Orange Walk police, Doctor Guerra was walking on Main Street when he was ambushed by 5 men - namely 20 year old Richard Berry, 28 year old Crispin Moreno, 20 year old Alejandro Nunez, and a 15 and 16 year old minor. The 5 men allegedly beat and robbed him. All of the suspects were apprehended and initially charged for the crime of attempted Murder which has since been upgraded to Murder.
Coincidentally, the five men accused men were all involved in an Orange Walk prison van accident, which happened two weeks ago. One of them broke his back and is unable to move because of the injury. He remains hospitalized at the KHMH…
