Last night on this newscast Police Press Officer Fitzroy Yearwood said that Dangriga Police only had a single complaint against alleged land scam artist Lindburg Williams.
We told him we had heard otherwise and today two persons with title theft issues contacted us to confirm that they made complaints about Lindburg Williams to police - and those complaints were ignored.
Emilio Zabaneh from Independence says that he and Daniel Hartin personally appeared at the Placencia police station six months ago and made an official report against Lindberg Williams and nothing has been done.
Similarly, Ronald Rohlman from Sitee Point says he filed a complaint with the Dangriga Police Dept in April of this year naming Jeferdee Williams and Angel Moreira as participants in a land fraud conveyance. He says he provided copies of the fraudulent conveyance documents and despite numerous calls, got no response.
And - the agent for Canadian Steve Gervais who we spoke to a week ago said he went to Dangriga Police to complain about Lindburg and Jefferdee Williams from last year and nothing was done.
Police say they are conducting an internal investigation into that inaction, but then they also said that the case file for the land fraud, has been forwarded to the DPP - which Cheryl Lynn Vidal today confirmed is not so.
