Tonight, the whereabouts of 12 year old Toledo resident Ashley Janixta Perez, called Jackie are still unknown. As we've reported, the child went missing last week Thursday at noon from her foster mother's farm on Machaca road in Emery Grove Village.
That foster mother, Veronica Grant - saw the child ride off on a small pink beach cruiser bicycle and has not been seen or heard from since.
And while the geographical and chronological parallels between her disappearance and that of the Rash children one year ago are compelling, preliminary information suggests that this case may be different. Police are looking into the possibility that the child may have run away, possibly with a boyfriend. As we understand it, she is one of six children in the foster home and may be living in difficult circumstances.
12 year old Ashley Perez is about 5 foot one inch tall; petite, and is of brown complexion with short black hair and weighs about 80 pounds. She was last seen wearing a green T-shirt and a brownish greyish three quarter pants. Anyone knowing the whereabouts of the girl is asked to contact the nearest police station or contact the hotline at 0-800-922-TIPS.
