Alleged Park Robbers Caught

Two men accused of pulling off a pair of armed robberies in Battlefield Park have been remanded to prison. 21 year old Sherman Rodney and 18 year old Jermaine Bainton were charged with two counts of robbery while Rodney alone was charged with handling stolen goods.

The pleaded not guilty but because the offences were allegedly committed with a firearm, they could not get bail. There were remanded until September 28th.

The victims Jose Gonzalez and Norman Tasher reported that the pair held them up at gunpoint and stole their cell phones and cash. Gonzalez's cell phone was recovered later the same day from Rodney's residence on Gentle Lane.
