A man was sentenced to 9 years in prison today for firearm possession.
23 year old auto dealer Malcolm Lamb was found guilty of one count of kept firearm without a gun license and two counts of kept ammunition without a gun license.
Magistrate Aretha Ford sentenced Lamb to 3 years for each count with the stipulation that the sentences are to run consecutively - meaning he'll have to serve all 9 years.
Lamb, a resident of 85 Vernon Street, was busted around 12:45a.m on June 27, 2009. According to the evidence that came out at court, Lamb was standing in Dolphin Park when he was approached by a police mobile patrol.
A search resulted in the discovery of one.380 pistol in his pants waist and 12 rounds of ammunition in his pocket. Lamb testified and admitted that he was in the park but denied that he had the firearm and ammunition.
