Three men caught with an unlicensed weapon at a midnight roadblock have been remanded to prison.

They were charged with one count of kept firearm without a gun license and 2 counts of kept ammunition without a gun license when they appeared today in the Magistrate's Court.

21 year old Curlan Tillett, 25 year old Brandon Taylor and 26 year old Devonnie Myers pleaded not guilty to the charges. They were remanded until October 31.

Police intercepted a red Isuzu around midnight at the Burrell Boom junction. When they searched the vehicle they found one 9 millimeter pistol along with 5 rounds of ammunition and 9 rounds of.380 caliber ammunition in a plastic bag under the hand rest in the front seat of the vehicle.

Notably, Taylor had been in Court 2 days ago on charges of possession of cannabis and escape. He pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis and was fined. At the time, he pleaded not guilty to escape and he was released on bail.
